Obituary

Amalia Louisa Lopez, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 75. Her passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

Amalia was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Lopez, and her brothers, Leo Lopez and Marian Lopez.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Juan Lopez, Luis Garcia, and Benjamin Garcia; her sisters, Tinky Lopez and Marcella Thomas and her husband Eddie; her cherished grandchildren, Steven and Damian; and her beloved companion, Rudy Sanchez. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Raised in the Catholic faith, Amalia lived a life defined by compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to others. She was known for her selfless nature and her willingness to help anyone in need, whether family, friend, or stranger. She gave freely of her time, resources, and love, always placing the needs of others before her own.

Amalia possessed a keen intellect and had a special talent with numbers. She was an avid reader who enjoyed learning and keeping her mind active. In her leisure time, she loved playing games on her phone, watching novelas, and following soap operas from around the world, never letting a language barrier keep her from enjoying a good story.

Family was the center of Amalia's life. She lovingly helped raise and care for several of her grandchildren, providing guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her home was a place of comfort, acceptance, and warmth, where everyone felt welcomed and cared for.

Amalia will be remembered for her strength, kindness, generosity, and the countless lives she touched through her acts of love and service. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, family members, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her love, wisdom, and caring spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
