Adelina Valdez Hernandez

November 10, 1927 ~ June 20, 2022 (age 94)

Adelina Valdez Hernandez went to be with our Lord on Monday, June 20, 2022, surrounded by her family. On November 10, 1927, Adelina was born in Clint, Texas, to Espiridion and Ana Nava Valdez. In 1954, Adelina married Aurelio Marcos Hernandez. In 1963, Adelina and Aurelio moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Adelina dedicated her life to her husband and children. She also worked as the lead baker for a local restaurant for many years. One day the restaurant ran out of the ingredients to make biscuits. Adelina having her "special" recipe for muffins made them to replace the biscuits. As people strolled in to have their meal, finding no biscuits, they found Adelina's muffins. All loved the muffins and were added to the menu. She was a great cook, kind, caring and loving to all who encountered her. Adelina was also a very much loved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grand-mother. Adelina will be missed dearly and always be in our hearts.

Adelina is preceded in death by her parents Espiridion and Ana Nava Valdez; husband Aurelio Marcos Hernandez; son Rodolfo "Rudy" Hernandez; sisters Sor Juana Nava Valdez, Petra Valdez, Rosalia Cornelius; and brother Alberto Valdez.

Shortly after Adelina's passing she was joined in passing by her son Antonio "Tony" Hernandez to make their journey to heaven together.

She is survived by her children, Marcos Hernandez and wife Laurie of Albuquerque, NM, Betty Caval and husband Doug of Phoenix, AZ, Elizabeth Hernandez, Sebastian Hernandez and wife Joanna, Maria Cruz and husband Ralph, and Yolanda Hernandez all of Albuquerque, NM; daughter-in-law, Victoria, of Albuquerque, NM; sisters Delia Valdez, Hermelinda Christian and husband Nathaniel of Alamogordo, NM, and 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Pallbearers will be Sebastian Hernandez, Rodolfo Carlos Hernandez, Jacob Benjamin Sandoval, Jr., Damien Hernandez, Brenden Michael Jackson and Daniel Cruz.
